Will the Cold War Between the RSS and BJP End After the Coordination Committee Meeting in Kerala? Is it just a hogwash to grab headlines by both BJP and RSS?
The RSS is a unique social organization worldwide.
Although primarily a cultural organization, aiming to organize Hindus and awaken national consciousness in the country, it also influences politics through its political front, the BJP.
According to media reports, a cold war between the RSS and BJP began in May this year, amid the Lok Sabha elections.
But it is also question: Is it media creation just to hog limelight?
While my blog doesn't confirm this, a reputed daily newspaper has commented that the cold war has turned into bitterness.
In my understanding, the history of ups and downs in the relationship between the RSS and BJP is old.
The current strain in the relationship seems to stem from a statement by the BJP, suggesting it no longer needs the RSS's support.
Such differences have arisen in the past during the tenures of Balraj Madhok, L.K. Advani, and even Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The newspaper's commentary suggests that historically, such differences have always ended on a positive note, with the RSS emerging victorious.
However, this time, the direct response from the BJP leadership has elicited a strong reaction from the RSS Chief.
His choice of words in his reaction was unparalleled, and his commentary was profound and significant.
Although his comments could be viewed in a broader context, the media and the public have shown more interest in linking them to the BJP.
Now, all eyes are on the three-day annual coordination committee meeting of the RSS, starting on August 31 in Kerala.
This meeting will be attended by the BJP and 36 other frontal organizations of the RSS.
It will review the work of all the front organizations within the Sangh Parivar and provide an opportunity to resolve internal differences.
It will be interesting to see whether, as always, the ongoing cold war between the RSS and BJP ends on a positive note this time or if a new history will be written.
That's all for now.
