SHIMLA: In a swift response to the aftermath of heavy rains and landslides in Sujanpur Constituency, Hamirpur district, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited the disaster-hit regions and directed immediate action.
The Chief Minister declared regions severely affected by the natural disaster, including Utpur and Kakkar, as official disaster-affected areas.
Relief and Rehabilitation:CM Sukhu personally assessed the damages and reviewed ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts. He assured affected families of comprehensive government support.
Enhanced Compensation:A special relief package was announced, offering ten times higher compensation for affected families.
Previously, compensation for house damage ranged from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 12,500, but it has now been raised to Rs. 1 lakh.
Business Support: Shops and dhabas affected by the calamity will receive increased compensation, tenfold higher than before, at Rs. 1 lakh.
Animal Welfare: Financial assistance for the loss of milch animals like cows and buffaloes is now Rs. 55,000 per animal. Additionally, assistance for sheep and goat losses has been raised from Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 6,000.
Immediate Relief: Families residing in the disaster-affected areas will receive relief according to this special package.
Comprehensive Oversight: Chief Minister Sukhu also visited Sachuhi, Bajahar, Jol-Palahi, and other affected areas to oversee ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts, issuing necessary directives to the administration.
