SHIMLA: State Government has implemented a robust fire management strategy, covering key locations across the state.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu unveiled the comprehensive plan, which includes establishing strategic fire centers in important areas, ensuring sufficient availability of manpower, and deploying modern fire tenders equipped to handle both ordinary and oil fires.
Notably, the state recently added ten state-of-the-art fire tenders, equipped with foam-making machines, to its fleet. These hi-tech vehicles will significantly bolster firefighting capabilities. With this addition, the total number of fire-fighting tenders in the State has risen to 230.
The State Government has allocated Rs. 1.60 crore for the purchase of additional and advanced fire equipment to further strengthen fire services.
Moreover, the Government's commitment to safety is evident in its decision to open three new Fire Substations in crucial areas, namely Kaza in Lahaul-Spiti district, Killar in Chamba district, and Nadaun in Hamirpur district. Additionally, a new Fire Post will be established at Deha in the Shimla district.
These strategic initiatives demonstrate the State Government's proactive approach towards safeguarding its citizens. The measures put in place aim to ensure prompt and effective responses to fire emergencies and create a safer environment for all residents in these key locations.
