Kangana, PadamShri and Varun Gandhi BJP MP slugfest kicks up a storm among fans on Social Media
Unfazed by criticism, Kangana Ranaut, PadamShri and Bollywood actress from Himachal Pradesh has kicked up a fresh storm not only in Bollywood but also on social media and political circles across the nation after BJP MP, Varun Gandhi, one of the scions of the Gandhi family locked horns with her against her remark on India’s Freedom at a TV talk show summit held on Wednesday..
Interestingly, fans of both sides have turned the “ slugfest on freedom fighters” into Congress versus BJP debate on social media platforms, slamming “BJP’s Gandhi” for his remark against Kangana and latter’s remark on freedom in 1947 at a TV talk show.
On Wednesday during the TV Talk show summit, Kangana Ranaut, when the anchor asked her, “ Aap Bhagva Hai (you are saffron(BJP), she had replied, “… they got ‘Bhikh’ (alms), not freedom in 1947, but they got real freedom in 2014”, a punch line that referred to the year when the NDA-I under the BJP came to power under Prime Minister Narender Modi.
Her fans praised her for her stunning beauty during the ceremony and TV Talk show and her roles in nine different hit movies in which she performed different “true female roles” and hence deserve the PadamShri.
Kangana’s fans slammed Varun Gandhi for terming her remark on freedom of the country in TV talk show pointing out the past rift within the Gandhi family after death of Sanjay Gandhi. Varun Gandhi in his twit today had slammed Kangana’s remark as saying “… Should I call this kind of thinking as Pagalpan(Madness) or Deshdroh (sedition) ”.
There were also “bitter twits” from her critics who talked about “stripping her of PadamShri honour for her an alleged insult to freedom fighters, who had laid their life for Freedom.
On the other, there were twits in her praise saying only bold Kangana can take the bull by the horn. They allegedly talked of “Congress rules as an extension of the British”, which have raised the ire of the pro-Congress fans.
Even Kangana talked about sharing some news shortly about “… someone special coming in my life..,”, which she did not reveal. Kangana has her dream home in tourist town of Manali.
Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh had congratulated Kangana for the PadamShri award on social media.
Kangana and other Bollywood celebrities, Karan Jauhar, Akta Kapur, veteran actress Sarita Joshi, Suresh Wadekar, a playback singer and Adnam Sami, a music composer were among 61 awardees in different fields for 2020.
