President of India Dr Ram Nath Govind has expressed his concerns about the security lapse in Prime Minister Narender Modi’s convoy in Ferozepur in Punjab on January 5. The heads are set to start rolling as the breach of security of Prime Minister of India is unacceptable and the accountability will be fixed, asserted Home Ministry. Supreme Court is likely to hear the petition regarding the "PM security breach" tomorrow.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met President of India in Rashtrapati Bhawan today. The latter received from him the first-hand account of the security breach in his convoy at Hussainewala flyover in Ferozepur yesterday.
Prime Minister Modi thanked the President for his concerns and good wishes tweeting that his good wishes always give him strength.
The security experts and political analysts agreed that any lapse or breach in Prime Minister of India's security at any stage is "unacceptable and the head must start rolling in connection with the Ferozepur visit of Prime Minister on January 5" as it can embolden the terroristic elements in the country.
Prime Minister and the government of India belong to people of India, not to any particular political party, said the netizens. Any security lapse is unacceptable and those responsible for this breach must be brought to justice, they asserted.
Home Ministry asserted that such dereliction of security procedure in Prime Minister’s visit is totally unacceptable and accountability will be fixed. Ministry has sought a detailed report from Punjab government on January’s 5 security breach in Prime Minister’s convoy in Punjab.
As a matter of fact, Prime Minister’s convoy got stuck on the flyover for 15-20 minutes after the protesters, including trucks and other vehicles appeared on the route of Prime Minister while he was on his way to Ferozepur to address the public meeting and launching of development projects worth Rs 42,750 crore in Punjab yesterday.
Prime Minister took the U-turn from the flyover after the security breach, cancelled his Ferozepur programme, which was his first in Punjab after he cancelled the three controversial farm laws and flew back to Delhi from Bhatinda airport.
The heads may roll in the security breach as the Home Ministry had sought a detailed report from the Punjab Government in this connection yesterday.
Home minister Amit Shah said that Congress- made happening in Punjab is a trailer on how Congress thinks and and functions. Repeated rejections by the people have taken them to the path of insanity. Top most echelons in Congress must give apology to the people of India for what they have done. He said that Ministry of Home has sought a detailed report on Yesterday's security breach in Punjab. Such dereliction of security procedure in the Prime Minister's security is totally unacceptable and accountability will be fixed, he asserted on social media.
Meanwhile the Punjab government has also constituted a high level panel headed by the Justice Mehtab Singh Gill to probe the PM security lapse. The Panel had given 5.00 pm as a deadline to respond to Punjab DGP and other officers responsible for the security of PM.
