Paragliding Mishap in Baijnath: IAF Chopper Rushes In, Two Flyers Spotted...

Shimla/Palampur: A paragliding accident in the remote Guran Dhar area of Baijnath subdivision triggered a swift rescue response from the Himachal Pradesh government on Monday.

The alarm was raised after two flyers—Rajasthan-based pilot Arun Singh and Ranjan Gupta—ran into trouble mid-air and crash-landed in difficult terrain.

While Arun Singh sustained serious injuries, Gupta was left stranded atop a tree, with no immediate road access to reach them.

With the site tucked deep in hilly terrain, authorities wasted no time in calling in helicopter support. In a coordinated operation, a special rescue team of the Indian Air Force airlifted both victims to safety.

They were evacuated under challenging conditions and rushed to Vivekananda Hospital in Palampur, where they are currently undergoing treatment.

Officials said the quick deployment of aerial support proved crucial in saving lives in an इलाके where every minute counts.

Both injured are reported to be stable. Authorities have wished them a speedy recovery as the incident once again raises questions over safety protocols in adventure sports across Himachal’s high-risk zones.
