SHIMLA: HP Agriculture Minister Prof. Chandra Kumar today said entrepreneurs can get  a three percent interest rebate on loans up to Rs 2 crore through the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund, promoting the development of agricultural infrastructure in the state.

The maximum interest rate is capped at nine percent, aiming to create employment opportunities.he said while presiding over a conclave on agriculture here today. 

Emphasizing the need for simplicity in delivering benefits, the minister called for a single window approval process.

He highlighted the role of technology, machinery, and research in achieving success and urged youth to adopt modern agricultural techniques.

The state has allocated Rs 925 crore under the scheme, with 324 applications worth Rs 221 crore approved, benefiting farmers.

The minister underscored the importance of irrigation infrastructure for sectoral prosperity.

The conclave  was attended by officials, including K.R. Meena from the Union Agriculture Ministry.
