SHIMLA: BJP spokesperson and MLA Chopal Balbir Verma accused the Sukhu government of merely relishing the fruits of Parala, Asia's largest food processing unit, funded by the World Bank and the Central Government.
Addressing the media person in Shimla today Verma asserted that Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu's role was limited to conducting ribbon-cutting ceremonies, depicting theCongress government luxuriating in handed-out successes.
Verma highlighted that the World Bank sanctioned a Rs 101 crore rupees for the Parala food processing plant, emphasizing the pivotal role played by the JaiRam Thakur government in its pursuit, culminating in completion during their tenure.
He underscored the project's significance for farmers, tracing the roots of this project to the efforts of former horticulture minister Narendra Bragta.
Verma criticized the Congress government's failures, juxtaposing the achievement of the food processing plant with the mismanagement seen in the DGP case.
Verma didn't hold back, declaring it a "matter of shame" that the government had to act only after facing the court's rebuke in the DGP matter.
This Parala Mandi Project has become a political slugfest between the opposition BJP and the ruling Sukhu government.
Verma accompanied by Karan Nanda alleges that the Sukhu government is basking in borrowed glory, while the ruling party insists on its contribution to the state's prosperity.
