Mandi- As many as 100 students and 100  teachers and trainers  from UP schools  and ITIs participated in School Camp on Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, PRAYAS 2.0 at IIT Mandi.

The program organised by the IIT Mandi aimed to educate students about the fundamentals of robotics and AI, empowering them to create fully automated systems early in their careers.

Out of 3,000 applicants from Uttar Pradesh, 100 students were selected to participate in the camp.

Over 50 teachers from Uttar Pradesh Government Schools and 50 Industrial Training Institute trainers also joined the program.

Dr. Tushar Jain, Head of the Centre for Continuing Education at IIT Mandi, highlighted the success of PRAYAS 1.0 and shared the improvements in PRAYAS 2.0.

He said the inclusion of teachers and trainers, enable them to integrate the learnings into their teaching methods. The program was scaled up to accommodate over 200 participants, and plans for PRAYAS 3.0 include introducing a robotics competition.

During the four-week camp, students learned programming techniques, built robots using customized kits, and programmed them in Python.

They also participated in events like World Environment Day and International Yoga Day. Various activities such as Yoga classes, Bhagavad Geeta sessions, and cleaning drives were organized for holistic development.

PRAYAS is an initiative by IIT Mandi that aims to inspire youth and promote skill development. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, and participants received Take Home Robotics kits to continue their exploration.
