During the event, the Chief Minister announced a significant healthcare initiative. By November 30th, Health ID cards would be issued to all state residents, providing comprehensive health history information accessible with a single click.
This move was part of the state government's broader healthcare reforms, including the establishment of a Department of Emergency Medicine to improve healthcare services and the introduction of robotic surgery at Super Specialty Hospital Chamyana and IGMC Shimla.
Chief Minister Sukhu also shared his own journey from his college days to his political career, highlighting the importance of perseverance and hard work in achieving success.
He underscored the government's commitment to gender equality by amending the "Himachal Pradesh Land Holding Ceiling Act 1972" to grant daughters equal property rights as sons.
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister awarded a grant of Rs 5 lakh to the Student Central Association (SCA) at IGMC Shimla and recognized meritorious students with prizes. He also unveiled the poster for the Annual National Conference of India Public Health Association, scheduled to be held in Manali from March 15th to 17th, 2024.
Health Minister Dr. (Col) Dhani Ram Shandil also addressed the audience, inspiring students to serve the people of the state with dedication and a spirit of service.
In a heartwarming gesture, the doctors, employees, and students of IGMC contributed a generous sum of Rs 6.11 lakh to the Aapda Rahat Kosh, presenting a check to the Chief Minister.
