SHIMLA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi would launch the 180 MW Bajoli Hydro Electric Project, lay the foundation stones of 48 MW Chanju-III Hydro Electric Project and 30.5 MW Deothal Chanju Hydro Electric Project and would launch PMGSY-III on October 13 in Chamba.
Prime Minister's proposed visit to Chamba has come hot on the heels of similar two recent visits- Mandi, where he addressed the Yuva Sankalp rally virtually from Delhi due to bad weather and Bilaspur, where he launched AIIMS Bilaspur, hydroengineering college Bandla, laid foundation stone of the Pinjore- Baddi-Nalagarh four lane and Medical device park at Nalagarh.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur took stock of adequate and foolproof arrangements to make the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to aspirational district Chamba an historic one.
Modi's frequent visits to pollbound Himachal touching three Lok Sabha constituencies of Mandi, Hamirpur and Kanga are being viewed as BJP strategy to fan out its socalled political plank of "work of double engine government" to accomplish the mission repeat in the state.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the meeting to review the preparedness for the proposed visit of Chief Minister said that the PM would address a public meeting at famous Chamba Chowgan.
He directed the authorities to make adequate arrangements to ensure that the general public do not face any inconvenience.
He said that adequate arrangements must be made for ensuring that flow of traffic does not get affected and ensure proper maintenance of roads leading to Chamba town.
Jai Ram Thakur also directed the concerned authorities to ensure uninterrupted water supply in the town. He also directed the concerned authorities to launch a special cleanliness campaign in the town, both before and after the public meeting.
He also directed the Municipal Council Chamba authorities to ensure proper cleanliness in and around the town, both before and after the rally.
He said that whole Chamba town must be decorated properly. Chief Minister also visited the Chowgan and inspected the preparedness works.
