PmModi virtually Opens Four Projects of SJVN

SHIMLA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated four power stations and laid the foundation stone for three others, all belonging to SJVN (Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited).

These projects, with a combined investment of Rs 5515 crore, mark a significant step towards India's renewable energy goals, said CMD SJVN GeetaKapur.

The inaugurated projects include the 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Power Station in Uttarakhand, and three solar power stations - the 75 MW Parasan Solar Power Station, the 75 MW Gurhah Solar Power Station, and the 50 MW Gujrai Solar Power Station.

Meanwhile, the foundation stones were laid for the 382 MW Sunni Dam Hydro Electric Project and the 15 MW Nangal Floating Solar Power Project in Himachal Pradesh, along with the 70 MW Solar Project in Assam.

These hydro and solar power projects are expected to contribute to India's ambitious target of achieving a net zero carbon emission economy by 2070.

Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of uninterrupted, reliable, and affordable power supply for all, reaffirming SJVN's commitment to realizing his vision of 500 GW installed capacity from non-fossil fuel-based energy resources by 2030.

The event was attended by dignitaries including Governor of Telangana Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief Minister of Telangana Shri A. Revanth Reddy, and Union Minister of Culture, Tourism & Development of North Eastern Region, Shri G. Kishan Reddy.

SJVN, a prominent power sector CPSE, is diversifying its portfolio to include hydro, thermal, wind, solar, power trading, and power transmission.

With projects totaling 727 MW in capacity, SJVN is poised to contribute significantly to India's renewable energy landscape, marching towards its shared vision of achieving 25,000 MW installed capacity by 2030 and 50,000 MW by 2040.
