SHIMLA- Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, CMD SJVN, inaugurated the fourth edition of Sauhard under the My Social Responsibility (MSR) program, which is part of the Swachhta Pakhwada 2023 initiative. The MSR program was initiated by Sh. Nand Lal Sharma in 2019 with the aim of reaching out to marginalized sections of society.
During the event, Sh. Nand Lal Sharma distributed mementos and items that were voluntarily donated by SJVN employees to low-income outsourced workers employed by various contractors at the Corporate Headquarters in Shimla. Out of the 308 mementos distributed,
Sh. Nand Lal Sharma personally donated more than 56 mementos and gifts that he had received on different occasions from external agencies, organizations, and groups.
Sh. Sharma expressed that "My Social Responsibility" is SJVN's philanthropic endeavor to balance economic growth with the welfare of vulnerable sections of society. He emphasized the importance of voluntarily contributing to this noble cause and helping the less privileged in every possible way.
The event was attended by Smt. Geeta Kapur, Director (Personnel), Sh. Sushil Sharma, Director (Electrical), Sh. Prem Prakash, Chief Vigilance Officer, and other senior officers of SJVN.
Since 2019, three previous editions of MSR have been successfully organized at the Corporate Office in Shimla, resulting in the distribution of over 1000 mementos and gifts among the less privileged sections of society.
Furthermore, other projects and units of SJVN have also adopted the MSR program and are organizing Sauhard events in their respective project areas to assist vulnerable individuals in their nearby communities.
