Gurukul Galaxy Shines Brighter as Prikshit Verma Becomes Indian Army Lieutenant
DEHA(SHIMLA): On the eve of its Silver Jubilee celebrations, Gurukul School, Deha Balson added another proud chapter to its legacy as Prikshit Verma, a Class X student of the 2022–23 batch, successfully cleared the National Defence Academy (NDA) examination and was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army.
A consistently meritorious student, Prikshit had scored an impressive 95 per cent in the HP Board Class X examination, said teachers.
During his school years, he was known for his discipline, sincerity and obedience—qualities that later helped shape his career in the armed forces.
The achievement holds special significance as Prikshit’s elder brother, Rahul Verma, is also serving as a Lieutenant in the Indian Army.
Both brothers are sons of Sh. Bhupender Verma and Mrs. Surja Verma, making it a moment of immense pride for the family, the school and the region.
The school paid rich tribute to its teachers, acknowledging their quiet and tireless efforts in shaping students’ futures and instilling strong values.
Gian Verma, Director, Gurukul School, Deha Balson, said the success reaffirmed faith in rural education.
“Students do not need big city schools to achieve success. Small rural schools are equally capable of nurturing talent. Excellence can flourish anywhere when students are guided with dedication, discipline and values".
The school expressed happiness over Prikshit Verma’s achievement and wished him success in his future service to the nation, Verma said.
Students were urged to draw inspiration from both brothers, who stand as role models of hard work, commitment and perseverance.
As the saying goes, success speaks the loudest when achieved through silent hard work.
The journey of excellence continues at Gurukul.
