MANDI: IIT Mandi's Catalyst is gearing up for the seventh edition of the Himalayan Startup Trek (HST), scheduled from September 29 to October 1, 2023. This flagship event is a launchpad for startups, aspirants, and innovators to shine and it offers Rs 2 Lakh for the top three.

According to IIT Mandi, HST has three themes including first,  Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).  It  Creates solutions that elevate human-computer interaction, from AI-enhanced decision-making to robotics for business excellence.

Second is Build for the Himalayas: Tackle unique Himalayan challenges – road safety, agriculture, rural growth – with innovation and sustainable tech.

Third is Environment and Sustainability: Champion eco-friendly solutions, spanning from managing plastic waste to climate-resilient agriculture.

Each theme offers up to Rs 2 lakhs for the top three startups, alongside incubation support, funding access, and state piloting opportunities.

Prof. Laxmidhar Behera, IIT Mandi Director, urges innovators to join the HST Startup Grand Challenge 2023 and showcase transformative ideas.

Sh. Rakesh Kumar Prajapati, Director of Industries, Himachal Pradesh, applauds HST's role in nurturing the local startup ecosystem.

With an anticipated 1000 participants – founders, investors, officials – this year's HST is set to surpass previous editions.

Supported by the Department of Science and Technology and HP State government, IIT Mandi Catalyst empowers startups through mentorship and industry connections.

Sponsors include the Department of Industries, Government of Himachal Pradesh, Fresenius Kabi Oncology Limited, Peak Venture, and IIT Mandi iHub and HCI Foundation.
