Veteran Actor Anant Nag to Receive 2024 Dadasaheb Phalke Award at 72nd National Film Awards
NEW DELHI: Veteran actor Anant Nag will be formally honored with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2024 in recognition of his multi-decade contribution to Indian cinema.
The announcement, communicated officially by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting confirmed that the highest recognition in Indian cinema will be presented during the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony held in Kevadia, Gujarat.
A Five-Decade Cinematic Journey
Attributing the announcement to the government release, PIB stated that the selection committee recommended Nag for his versatile performance spanning over 50 years and more than 300 films.
Known for iconic roles in parallel cinema classics like Ankur, Nishant, and Manthan, as well as massive commercial blockbusters across Kannada, Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, and Malayalam cinema.
PM terms the award a "richly deserved honor" for an artist who brought rare depth and authenticity to every character he played.
