SHIMLA: In a bid to bolster clean energy initiatives and empower the youth, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has called upon young entrepreneurs to spearhead solar power projects in the state.
The government is offering an enticing proposition – a 25-year commitment to purchase electricity generated from these projects.
Sukhu said idea is to tap solar power for clean energy and creating self-employment opportunities for youth.
To facilitate this, the government is extending a generous 40 percent subsidy to support the establishment of solar power projects, ranging in capacity from 250 KW to two MW, on privately owned land.
The state has set an ambitious goal to transform Himachal Pradesh into a 'Green Energy State' by March 31, 2026, by diversifying its energy sources.
