SHIMLA: The expert from ASSOCHAM presented strategy for reducing carbon emissions and enhancing energy efficiency in buildings, industries, transport and agriculture in Himachal Pradesh as targeted in State Energy Efficiency Action Plan (SEEAP) for the state.
The officials from State Designated Agency (SDA), Directorate of Energy (DoE), Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, Government of India, Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) came on board on this at workshop on the SEEAP at Hotel Holiday Home (HHH), Shimla.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Amit Kumar (IAS), Director of HPSEBL, highlighted the crucial role of the action plan in reducing carbon emissions and enhancing energy efficiency. He emphasized the importance of making the action plan publicly accessible to gather suggestions and feedback.
The workshop featured detailed presentations by Sh. Mohit Tripathi (Project Manager, ASSOCHAM) and Sh. Aashish Kudal (Project Coordinator, ASSOCHAM) on the State Energy Efficiency Action Plan for Himachal Pradesh.
The presentations covered various sectors including Buildings, Industries, Transport, and Agriculture. Notable highlights from the plan included strategies for promoting energy efficiency in the transport sector, introducing fuel-efficient tire labeling, implementing building efficiency ratings, and encouraging behavioral changes towards energy efficiency.
Participants and stakeholders provided positive feedback on the proposed action plan, appreciating its comprehensive approach to tackling energy efficiency challenges.
Er. D.P. Gupta, Chief Engineer at the Directorate of Energy (DoE), conveyed gratitude to all participants as he delivered the closing remarks.
Sh. Ravindar Chandla, Regional Director of ASSOCHAM, extended a warm welcome and expressed gratitude to the various departments involved for their collaboration and coordination in shaping the action plan.
