SHIMLA: SJVN clinched three solar projects totaling 320 MW from Assam Power Development Corporation Limited.
SJVN CMD Nand Lal Sharma said the projects, won through competitive bids, encompass 50 MW and 70 MW solar parks at Rs. 3.92 per unit, and a 200 MW project at Rs. 3.90 per unit, to be located anywhere in Assam.
Developments will be managed by SJVN's subsidiary, SGEL, on a Build Own and Operate basis.
With SJVN's solar and wind portfolio exceeding 5 GW this year, they're advancing towards their 'Mission 12000 MW by 2026' and national targets of 25,000 MW by 2030 and 50,000 MW by 2040. The projects are projected to yield 628 million green energy units in the first year, mitigating 7.14 lakh tonnes of carbon emissions and requiring an investment of Rs. 1900 crores.
Commissioning is expected by March 2025 under 25-year Power Purchase Agreements with APDCL. SJVN previously partnered with APDCL for 1000 MW floating solar projects, reinforcing their commitment to Assam's green progress.
