SHIMLA: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has announced the first edition of the CII Corporate Women Leadership Awards in 12 categories to recognise exceptional women in the corporate world.

These awards have been instituted to honour the achievements and contributions of those who are creating a new and ever-lasting template of success.

Mrs Rumjhum Chatterjee, Past Chairperson, CII Northern Region & Co-Founder & Managing Trustee, The Infravision Foundation said, “Women in India have shown exceptional leadership skills and qualities that have driven their careers to the peak of their success, against all odds".

Mrs Chatterjee is also chairing the Steering Committee for the Awards. It also includes many big names of the industries.

These awards are an endeavour by the industry to scale up its commitment and efforts to build a more diverse workforce in the country, she said

Women Corporate Leadership Awards will not only recognise the present leaders but will also encourage women to excel, grow and inspire as professionals in the industry. 

"This would draw a positive influence for the Indian women workforce at large,” said Mr Sameer Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, Jakson Group. 

“The awards initiative is a platform for us to recognise the corporate women leadership community in India.  Their contribution to the growth of the corporate world is truly commendable and inspiring," said Mr Sachin Tayal, Managing Director, Protiviti Member Firm for India, a partner firm for the Awards.

 The last date to apply for the awards is 12 February 2023. 

 The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 24 March 2023, in New Delhi, during CII Northern Region’s Annual Regional Meeting & Conference.
