SHIMLA: Chief Minister, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the government would set up a one-stop dedicated investment and facilitation bureau to fast-track clearances for industrialists in the state.
This will help in providing all clearance and approvals in a time-bound manner, thereby enhancing the momentum of investment in the State.
This proposal would play a pivotal role in making Himachal Pradesh as the most preferred investment destination for investors, he added.
Presiding over a review meeting with the department of Industries on Wednesday evening, Chief Minister said this bureau will provide one-stop solution for the investment in various sectors such as Industries, Tourism, Food Processing, Ayurveda, IT/Information Technology Enabled Services (ITeS), Power, Health and Education Institutions.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to prepare a document with all the requisite policies and rules for the bureau.
He gave directions to expedite the process of appointing a transaction Advisor for selection of Strategic Investor for the Bulk Drug Park in Una.
Principal Secretary, Industries, R.D. Nazeem shared broad contours of the proposed Investment Promotion and Facilitation Bureau for the State.
It will have vested powers for granting approvals and clearances for the projects with capacity of more than Rs.10 crore.
He further informed that senior experts from line departments will be brought on deputation to the Bureau, thereby granting requisite approvals in time-bound manner.
Nazeem also apprised of the urgent need to select a strategic investor for development, operation and maintenance of upcoming Bulk Drug Park in Una.
Industries Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan, Chief Secretary, Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Bharat Kheda, Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister, Vivek Bhatia and Director of Industries, Rakesh Kumar Prajapati, Additional Director (Industries), Tilak Raj Sharma were also present in the meeting.
Director Industries Rakesh Kumar Prajapati revealed that a team of Department officials had also gone to Dharamshala for identifying sites for the IT Park.
