Chandigarh, March 3:
The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) have opened applications for undergraduate admissions for the 2026–27 academic session through the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2026.
According to Spokesperson, online registration starts March 5, while the entrance exam will be held on June 7.
Admissions to all IISER campuses will be based only on IAT scores — JEE scores will not be considered.
The IAT is the single gateway to seven IISERs located at **IISER Berhampur, IISER Bhopal, IISER Kolkata, IISER Mohali, IISER Pune, IISER Thiruvananthapuram and IISER Tirupati.
Students who passed Class XII (or equivalent) in 2024, 2025 or 2026 with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD) and studied at least three subjects among Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology are eligible. Mathematics is compulsory for some specialised programmes.
Applications must be submitted online at https://www.iiseradmission.in/.

For science students aiming at research-led careers, IAT 2026 is the main entry route to IISERs.
