Kulluvi Dictionary Released, A First-of-its-Kind Effort to Preserve Valley’s Language

Kullu: In a significant cultural milestone for the Valley of Gods, noted writer and artist Raj Sargam has released his ambitious book “Kulluvi Dictionary,” a first-of-its-kind effort aimed at preserving and promoting the region’s native language.

The book was formally launched by Award of Excellence winner and Director of Baragarh Resort & Spa (IHCL SeleQtions), Nakul Khullar, who lauded the initiative as a meaningful step towards safeguarding the rich cultural heritage of Kullu.

He emphasized that taking Kulluvi language and traditions to the masses is crucial to keeping the region’s identity alive.

Raj Sargam, known for his multifaceted personality as a poet, lyricist, and writer, is also an active member of the Screenwriters Association (SWA), Mumbai, a progressive orchardist, and a junior artist.

Demonstrating his commitment to his roots, he has temporarily put on hold the publication of his poetry collection to focus entirely on the Kulluvi Dictionary project.

The event also saw the presence of Baragarh Resort & Spa General Manager Ranjit Singh and artist Shiva, who joined in appreciating the unique literary contribution.

The dictionary is being seen as a pioneering effort in documenting and preserving the Kulluvi language, marking a major step in protecting the linguistic heritage of Himachal Pradesh’s culturally rich Kullu valley.
