DEHRADUN: In lush green heart of Khalanga near hete, there's a big showdown brewing up.
The SDC Foundation, the green warriors, and other NGOs are standing firm against a crazy idea: chopping down 2000 of precious trees for the Rs 1300 Crore water project reservoir
We're not having it. These trees aren't just wood; they're like family.
"They've been watching over this forest forever. And now, they're under threat. But we're not going down without a fight", Declared NGOs which are up in arms against the Uttarakhand governmentproject authorities.
"We're shouting loud and clear: hands off our trees!"
"We're not about to let them bulldoze our green paradise for some project. In a world where nature's getting a raw deal, we're standing up for what's right".
These trees mean everything to us. They're not just part of the scenery; they're the lifeblood of this place. So, yeah, we're digging in our heels and saying, "No way, not on our watch!"
SDC Foundation president Anoop Nautiyal and Col Vikram Thapa from Khalanga vikas samiti and many others have joined hands to save these 2000 trees.
It farcical to cut down 2000 trees for water project as it is like solving one problem but creating another, said Nautiyal.
These trees should saved and the water authorities must find measures to save them the citizens demand.
