SHIMLA: The Buddhist fraternity and his Fans across the Himalayan states and World at large bat for Bharat Ratna for Noble Laureate Tibetan Spiritual Leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who turned 87 on July 6,2022.
The 14th Dalai Lama has pushed for promoting "unconditional Compassion" among friends and foes across the world"- a world which faces climate change and pandemic with super powers engaging in bitter "cold eco-wars" for mastery over the world.
From Macleodganj, the exiled residence and Tibetan capital of the the Dalai Lama to Kohima in Sikkim, the gompas and monasteries echoed with mantras of devotees and followers wishing the Dalai Lama good wishes on his 87th birthday today.
Joining the BharatRatnaForDalaiLamaCampaign is none other than Ladakh innovator and founder of Himalayan Institute of Alternatives and his follower Sonam Wangchuk. Wangchuk has echoed the "will" and voice of Himalayan people cutting across region, religion and ideology.
"It could be our appeal on his 87th Birthday today to the government of India for Bharat Ratna for the Dalai Lama", he said, tagging Prime Minister Narender Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
He has joined the Bharat Ratna campaign for the Daial launched by the members of the civil society of India.
The Dalai Lama says that he is "Son of India" and every thing, "every bit of his mind body and soul is embedded in Indian soil, in its air, water".
He has lived in India for the last 65 years ever since he left China-occupied Tibet, his homeland in 1959 and made Dharamshala is his residence ever since.
The Bharat Ratna will be the befitting honour to the world's spiritual Guru on his birthday, said Wangchuk.
In his message to his millions of followers and admirers across the Globe, the 14th Dalai Lama said, "Compassion naturally gives rise to tolerance and forgiveness.
"It allows us to appreciate, even someone we think of as an enemy is a human being with a right to be happy. Your enemy can be your best teacher because he or she teaches the possibility of unconditional compassion", he tweeted.
"If we look at the buildings we live and work in, the roads we travel on, the clothes we wear, or the food we eat, we must acknowledge that all are provided by others", the Dalai Lama says.
"None would exist for us to enjoy and make use of, were it not for the kindness of so many people unknown to us", the Dalai Lama says.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur telephonically conveying birthday greetings to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and wished him good health and long life.
Chief Minister said that the energy and dedication with which His Holiness the Dalai Lama is working towards humanity and spirituality is inspiring for future generations.
He said that the whole life of the Dalai Lama ji is dedicated to humanity, peace and non violence. He has preserved the historical and cultural heritage of the people of Tibet.
Renowned Buddhist scholar and the Dalai Lama's follower Dr Tashi Paljor, who comes from Lahaul-Spiti, a home to world famous monasteries and gompa also bat for the Bharat Ratna for the Dalai Lama.
The Dalai Lama has spread love and compassion not only in the Buddhist world, but also to entire humanity, he said.
Chief Minister said that the non-violent efforts of Dalai Lama ji to solve the issues of Tibet, is an example for the world.
He said that today Dharamshala is known as the holy city of Buddhism and the home of the Dalai Lama. This city remains the center of attraction for the whole world.
Jai Ram Thakur said that during the period of Corona, there were many misconceptions in the minds of people regarding vaccination. At that time, the Dalai Lama ji himself did the work of removing these misconceptions by getting vaccinated and inspired people to get them vaccinated.
Chief Minister urged the people to adopt the ideology of Dalai Lama ji and to work for the welfare of the entire humanity.
