SHIMLA: Braving cold weather, as many as 61 representatives from Nichar block today attended the Vidhik Saksharta Shivir (Legal Awareness Programme) for Panchayat representatives of this block of Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh at Bhawanagar.
The programme was organised by secretary District Legal Services Authority of Kinnaur in association with Himachal Pradesh state legal services authority(HPSLSA), Shimla.
Despite cold weather, the camp was attended by the Pradhans, vice- Pradhans, members of Mahila mandals, ward members and Panchayat secretaries of Nichar Block in district Kinnaur in Himachal.
DSLA officials in their talks made them aware about judicial functions and procedure to be followed by Panchayats and how they can avail the various NALSA victim compensation and state victim compensation schemes. They were educated about how they can get free legal aid to scheduled tribes and about the Domestic Violence Act, Special Rights of Tribal communities, said state member secretary, HPSLSA, Prem Pal Ranta.
They were informed about the upcoming National Lok Adalat on 12th March and were encouraged to mobilise people to bring their disputes for settlement both at Pre-litigation stage and pending matters in the Courts.
