Cylinder Blast Victims Stranded for Hours as Landslides Block Manikaran Road
MANIKARAN/KULLU: Tragedy deepened for five victims of a cylinder blast, including a baby, as the ambulance rushing them to Kullu hospital remained stuck for hours on the Manikaran road due to recurring landslides.
The injured, battling for life, were being ferried for first aid since Kullu hospital has no burn unit. They were to be referred further to AIIMS Bilaspur or PGI Chandigarh.
Even as stranded locals and JCB drivers made desperate attempts to clear the debris, fresh slides kept blocking the road, delaying the patients’ treatment. Police, meanwhile, said the cause of the blast is yet to be ascertained.
