CHOPAL: In a remarkable stride towards sustainability, the remote Gram Panchayat Paudiya in Development Block Chopal has become home to Himachal Pradesh's second Swami Vivekananda Panchvati Plastic Waste Park.
The park was formally inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shimla, Mr. Abhishek Verma (IAS).
What makes this achievement more commendable is the speed and vision behind it. Within just six months, Chopal block has constructed two such parks entirely from plastic waste — a feat unmatched by any other block in Himachal Pradesh.
Verma lauded the efforts of BDO Chopal, Vineet Thakur, for his dedication and innovative approach.
"We wanted to prove that even waste can be turned into something meaningful.
These parks are not just public spaces — they are a symbol of awareness, responsibility, and local participation," said BDO Vineet Thakur.
With these parks, Chopal has not only addressed the issue of plastic waste management but also created beautiful and functional community assets, setting a new benchmark for sustainable development in the state.
