Under this scheme, the physiotherapists will provide information about primary health care to the person with special ability and will also provide information about exercises at the doorstep of the chronically ill patients and those in coma. In addition, it aims to identify health problems in persons with special abilities and promote health care and hygiene. To avail the facilities of the scheme needy can contact existing health facilities and common schemes.
On the occasion, the Governor said that the aim of Samvedna was to provide health care to people with special ability at their doorstep. He said that the initiative of the district administration and Red Cross was dedicated to the welfare of people. He further said that district administration deserves appreciation, which has embodied the vision of the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.
Arlekar said that the Red Cross was working for the service of humanity all over the world and particularly, the organization was providing relief to people in times of disaster. He said that even in the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia, the Red Cross was rendering its humane services. He also appreciated the work of its other district branches working in the state. He stressed on disaster and other training programmes to the volunteers of Red Cross and said that the training should be given at their own level.
Governor said that the initiative of district administration would also be implemented across the state. He appealed to the people to take advantage of the programme. He said that the public representatives should also make efforts to take the benefits of public welfare schemes to the eligible persons.
Rakesh Jamwal, local MLA from Sundernagar welcomed the Governor on the occasion. He said that the State Government has implemented many schemes for public welfare during its tenure. He also mentioned the provisions made for the common people in the budget presented by the state government. He said that the Civil Hospital of Sundernagar has been made 150 bedded, the Mother Child Hospital built at a cost of Rs.12 crore has been dedicated to the public and the dialysis center has been provided in the Civil Hospital through Red Cross.
On the occasion, the Governor also released a booklet of Samvedna. He also distributed Wheel-chair, Alfa beds and Hearing-aid to the eligible persons. Dr. Sadhna Thakur, Member, National Red Cross Managing Body and Chairperson, State Red Cross Hospital Welfare Branch was also present on the occasion.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Arindam Chaudhary, who is also the chairman of District Red Cross honoured the Governor by presenting a Himachali cap and shawl on the occasion.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Mandi Jatin Lal welcomed the Governor and detailed about the new initiative of Samvedna. District Red Cross Society also presented a skit on first-aid on the occasion
Chairman Nagar Parishad Sundernagar Jitinder Sharma, Superintendent of Police Mandi Shalini Agnihotri and other prominent people were also present on the occasion. Earlier, MLA Sundernagar Rakesh Jamwal and Deputy Commissioner Mandi Arindam Chaudhary welcomed the Governor at Helipad in Government Polytechnic, Sundernagar.
