SHIMLA, JULY 6: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast another spell of intense rainfall across parts of Himachal Pradesh on Monday, warning of isolated heavy to very heavy rain in Kangra, Una and Sirmaur districts and isolated heavy rainfall in Chamba, Mandi and Shimla districts.
The weather warning has put both farmers and tourists on alert as heavy showers could lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas, slippery roads, poor visibility, traffic congestion and temporary disruption of essential services and outdoor activities.
Apple growers and other farmers have been advised to postpone pesticide spraying and other field operations during the rain spell.
They have also been urged to ensure proper drainage in orchards and fields to prevent water stagnation and crop losses.
Tourists have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel to vulnerable and landslide-prone areas, stay away from rivers, streams and other water bodies, and check the latest weather and traffic advisories before undertaking journeys in the hill state.
The administration has appealed to residents and visitors to remain updated with official weather bulletins, follow traffic advisories and strictly adhere to guidelines issued by the state government and local authorities until the weather conditions improve.
