Shimla: Himachal Pradesh's Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, inaugurated the 'Shimla Flying Festival' in Junga, saying that Himacha welcomes  tourists once again.

The three-day event features paragliders from India and abroad, promoting adventure tourism and creating job opportunities for locals. Despite recent disasters, the festival signifies Himachal's commitment to tourism.

The event is jointly organized by 'The Glide Inn' company and the State Tourism Department. Amit Kashyap, MD of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, highlighted efforts to boost tourism. Arun Rawat, CEO of 'The Glide Inn,' praised the government's support.

The Chief Minister acknowledged the state's challenges and plans for sectoral changes, with a focus on self-reliance. He expressed concern for disaster-affected areas and called for a special relief package from the Central government.

Despite significant financial obligations, the Himachal government allocated a Rs 4,500 crore special relief package for disaster rehabilitation and enhanced compensation. Rural Development Minister Anirudh Singh praised the festival's role in attracting tourists after the disaster, marking a positive step for Himachal's tourism sector.
