Samej flash flood in Rampur

Breaking News: Cloudburst in Srikhand Mahadev Range  Wreaks Havoc in Kullu and Rampur  

Rampur/Kullu: A devastating cloudburst in the Srikhand Mahadev range has unleashed massive floods in Kurpan, Samej, Kandarad and Ghanvi Khad. 

The flood  in Samej khad in Rampur  sub division of  Jhakhari  area have also washed away several people. The flood was so devastating that it literally wiped out the Samej village at the margins of its flood plain.  

The state government has released list of 36 persons,  32 from Rampur  who are feared  missing  in flash floods in the Kullu and Rampur region.  

In Samej, a hydropower project building, where several workers were sleeping, has been swept away by the surging waters.

Rescue operations by NDRF and HPSDM team are currently underway to locate the missing individuals. There were wailing voices sweeping the deluge-scarred village. 

The entire region is on high alert as authorities continue to assess the extent of the damage and coordinate relief efforts.

Rampur MLA Nand Lal visited the victims in Samej.

The list includes 4 migrant workers, 8 people from the Kandarad Khushwa area, 7 employees from the Greenco project in Samej, and 14 local residents from the Samej village who are missing.
