Chandigarh: In a new a move toward making Punjab drug-free, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann inaugurated the "Nasha Mukt Punjab" campaign today from the holy city of Amritsar.
The initiative, aimed at eradicating substance abuse, saw participation from nearly 35,000 children and youth, who gathered to offer their prayers for the betterment of Punjab.
The campaign also kick-started efforts to engage the youth in sports, with thousands of young people including students actively taking part.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed his commitment to making Punjab free from the clutches of addiction and stated, "Our endeavor is to liberate Punjab from the menace of substance abuse, and we are dedicated to this cause. Your support is crucial in achieving this goal."
The "Nasha Mukt Punjab" campaign signifies a renewed effort to combat the drug problem that has plagued the region, and the Chief Minister emphasized the need for collective action to bring about positive change.
The youth representing districts of Punjab played T5 cricket matches and vowed to fight the drug menace in the state.
CM urged all stakeholders to join hands and making the campaign a lasting battle in the Punjab, the land of five rivers that emanate from the Himalaya.
