Shimla: The 18th meeting of the State Level Coordination Committee (SLCC) for Himachal Pradesh, held here under the chairmanship of Shri Manish Garg, Principal Secretary, Government of Himachal Pradesh, addressed growing concerns related to fraudulent entities and cryptocurrency scams in the state.
During the meeting, Shri Manish Garg, the Chairman of SLCC, expressed deep concerns about the increasing incidents of unauthorized deposits being accepted by fraudulent entities and the emergence of cryptocurrency frauds in the state.
Regional Director of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) called for checking the frauds and fraudulent entities in the state.
This collaborative body is primarily focused on sharing information and resources to tackle and prevent unauthorized deposit-taking by unscrupulous institutions.
The meeting saw the participation of senior officials from various government departments, including the Finance Department, Vigilance Department, Cyber Cell, as well as representatives from the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India), Registrar of Companies (ROC), ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India), and the RBI.
The State Level Coordination Committee (SLCC) in Himachal Pradesh consists of all key regulatory bodies, including the RBI, SEBI, IRDAI (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India), NHB (National Housing Bank), PFRDA (Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority), and enforcement agencies within the State Government, such as the Home Department, Finance Department, Law Department, and Economic Offenses Wing (EOW).
These issues pose a significant threat to the financial security of residents and the overall integrity of the financial system.
The meeting provided a platform for concerned members to brief the committee on recent developments in their respective departments, further enhancing coordination and information-sharing efforts.
The RBI is a key player in maintaining financial stability and security, is actively engaged in addressing these pressing issues to safeguard the interests of the citizens of Himachal Pradesh.
