SHIMLA: Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur said 9th Employment Fair held in Shimla including other 46 different locations across India has given employment to 51 k people nationwide under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi today.
Thakur lauded the Modi government's commitment to fostering both public sector employment and self-employment through initiatives such as the Mudra scheme and Startup India Standup India.
He said Prime Minister Modi's pivotal role in driving these initiatives have achieved remarkable milestones.
Responding to the Media, he said the historic passage of the Nari Shakti Vandhan Bill, demonstrated the government's dedication to women's empowerment. "It will see the light of day once the delimitation commission and Population census is complete".
Thakur said the transformative changes, including the revocation of Article 370 and 35A, have propelled India into the ranks of the world's top economies and advanced the nation's digital payments technology.
In a move to promote gender equality and representation, Thakur advocated for a 33% reservation for women in state assemblies, believing it would empower women and improve decision-making.
Thakur addressed recent incidents of discrimination against athletes from Arunachal Pradesh, reaffirming the government's stance on Arunachal's integral part in India and criticizing the unfair treatment of Indian athletes.
He said the economic corridor between India and the UAE, highlighting its potential for growth in India's trade and economic development.
Thakur also responded to criticisms regarding government expenditure, particularly on schemes like MNREGA, emphasizing their profound impact on rural development and questioning whether critics considered their contribution to India's progress.
Thakur distributed appointment letters to 110 newly appointed candidates in government departments.
He commended Prime Minister Modi's commitment to prioritizing employment generation and noted that job fairs like this play a crucial role in empowering youth and facilitating their participation in national development.
Thakur also mentioned the positive outcomes of the Startup Scheme in the space sector, aimed at attracting youth towards information technology.

89 Get Jobs at SJVN
Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi virtually issued 89 job appointment letters during the Ninth Tranche of the Rozgar Mela for SJVN, said SJVN CMD Nand Lal Sharma.
These appointments include roles like Field Officers, Engineers, and Officers. Over the past year, SJVN has hired 561 individuals and aims to recruit 300 more this fiscal year.
The company has also reserved 25 percent of positions for local residents living near their projects, Sharma said.
