SHIMLA: As many as 159 Paragliding Pilots will scan the Himalayan skies showing their skills in the airs during the Pre-World Cup Paragliding competition set to take place from October 26, 2023, in Bir-Billing, Kangra district.
This event, jointly organized by the Billing Paragliding Association and the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, promises to be a thrilling spectacle of paragliding prowess.

This international gathering will witness paragliders from countries such as the United States, Australia, New Zealand, France, Sweden, Germany, China, South Africa, Belgium, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Kazakhstan, Norway, Nepal, Vietnam, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Canada, as well as paragliding teams from the Indian Air Force, Army, and Navy.
Participants will be ranked according to international standards, making this a truly global sporting event.
The event has garnered the prestigious approvals of both the Federation of Aeronautical International Paragliding World Cup Commission and Aero Club India, the foremost governing bodies in paragliding.
Safety has been paramount in the event's planning, with two teams from the Army Adventure Wing and the Indian Air Force Adventure Wing, along with dedicated rescue teams, ready to respond swiftly to any unforeseen emergencies.
Helicopters will be on standby, further enhancing the comprehensive safety measures in place.
