SHIMLA: in a first complete political about turn of its kind BJP has strategically positioned itself for upcoming by-elections by nominating all six disqualified Congress rebel MLAs, who recently joined the party, as its candidates.
These candidates will contest from the same assembly seats they previously represented.
This move is seen as a calculated strategy to capitalize on the Congress votes, potentially tipping the scales in BJP's favor to fruitfy its operation Lotus to unseat Sukhu government.
The nominations include notable figures like Shri Sudhir Sharma from Dharamshala, Shri Ravi Thakur from Lahaul & Spiti, Shri Rajinder Rana from Sujanpur, Shri Inder Dutt Lakhanpal from Barsar, Shri Chaitanya Sharma from Gagret, and Shri Devinder Kumar (Bhutto) from Kutlehar in Himachal Pradesh.
The list is of candidates is released byvthe BJP today.
Earlier Sudhir Kalia, BJP ex MLA from Gagret has resigned from party post. Will more resign will follow only time will tell.
Dr Ram Lal Marknde ex BJP MLA in Lahaul-Spiti, Neheria in Dharamshala, Dhumals loyalists in Hamirpur and Una may give BJP some sleepless nights. It would be no a cakewalk for BJP to win the sux seats by fielding former Congress rebels.
Much will depend on how the voters will respond to BJP'S operation Lotus. Also on what Congress choose to do capitalizing on BJP’S factional war.
It is true that Anurag Singh Thakur, IB Minister and BJP Candidate from Hamirpur also garlanded the six former Congress MLAs who they joined the BJP in New Delhi last week.
But BJP is hoping to ride High on Modi's Charisma to see that six Candidates win on June 4 when Votes will be counted.
BJP politics in Himachal has been dominated by the Bjp national chief Jagat Prakash Nadda and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur pushing Dhumal and Anurag Thakur group to the sidelines.
List also included assembly by-elections in Karnataka and Gujarat as well.
In Karnataka, Shri Narasimhanayak (Rajugouda) will contest from the Shorapur (ST) constituency. Additionally, in West Bengal, Shri Bhaskar Sarkar will stand for election in Bhagawangola, and Shri Sajal Ghosh in Baranagar.
This strategic maneuver underscores BJP's intent to consolidate its position in these constituencies and secure a favorable outcome in the upcoming by-elections.
