SHIMLA: IN a wave of complaints against educational tech giant BYJU'S, disillusioned parents are taking to social media to expose the company's deceptive practices.
What begins as enticing promises of refunds and scholarships quickly turns into a nightmare for many, as BYJU'S allegedly fails to deliver on its commitments.
Kiran Sharma, one of the aggrieved parents, recounts her frustrating experience with BYJU'S. After purchasing a course on August 20th and promptly initiating a cancellation request within the 15-day trial period on September 2nd, Sharma expected a smooth refund process.
However, despite repeated attempts to contact BYJU'S support, Sharma has yet to receive approval for her cancellation or any indication of a refund.
Her story mirrors that of countless others who find themselves trapped in a cycle of broken promises and unfulfilled assurances.
Adding to the chorus of discontent is Deepak Banchaik from Shimla,9 who fell victim to BYJU'S misleading tactics. Banchaik, lured in by promises of a refund if his son didn't like the course, deposited Rs 12,000 for a supposed loan of Rs 32,000.
When his son expressed dissatisfaction with the course and sought a refund, Banchaik encountered a series of evasive tactics from BYJU'S representatives. Despite assurances of a refund, he was later asked to pay additional sums and ultimately denied reimbursement of his hard-earned money.
These stories shed light on a broader pattern of misconduct within BYJU'S, where sales executives allegedly manipulate customers with false promises, only to backtrack on refunds and scholarships when pressed.
As grievances mount and customers like Sharma and Banchaik turn to social media to air their grievances, BYJU'S faces mounting pressure to address its tarnished reputation and fulfill its obligations to its customers.
Byjus support responded by saying they would do the needful and redress grievances of its customers.
