DC SHIMLA Anupam Kashyap at landslide spot

Shimla - The Deputy Commissioner of Shimla, Anupam Kashyap, promptly assessed the situation following a landslide on Mehli-Junga Road. The incident, occurring late at night, claimed the lives of two laborers.

A swift rescue operation, involving police, fire, SDRF, and Home Guard teams, successfully recovered the bodies after an hour-long effort.

The victims, identified as Rakesh and Rajesh Kumar from Bihar, were found in the debris of their shanty.

Additionally, five individuals sustained injuries. The district administration has provided interim relief to the affected. The Deputy Commissioner commended the collaborative rescue efforts and met with the injured laborers for insights into the tragic incident.

District officials, including the District Magistrate and Sub-Divisional Magistrate, acknowledged the diligent work of the rescue teams.
