New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has caught an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Delhi Police red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 from a complainant.
As per CBI officials, the ASI had allegedly demanded ₹30,000 from the complainant to take action in a case filed against the latter's wife.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the CBI, which then laid a trap. The ASI was caught accepting ₹10,000 as the first installment of the bribe.
Following the arrest, the CBI launched a detailed investigation into the matter. Further probe is underway.
