NEW DELHI/SHIMLA: Early this morning, a 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck Delhi-NCR at approximately 5:30 am, with the epicenter near Dhaula Kuan. The tremors prompted residents in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad to evacuate their homes.

Fortunately, there have been no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

Later, around 8:00 am, a second earthquake of similar magnitude was reported in Bihar. Details about this event are still emerging.

IMD has urged citizens in northern India to remain calm and vigilant for potential aftershocks.

Delhi is situated in Seismic Zone IV, indicating a high risk of seismic activity. The region frequently experiences moderate to significant tremors due to the ongoing collision between the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates.
