Baddi factory fire

Baddi/Shimla:  In a heart-wrenching incident at the NR Aromas factory  in Jharmajri, Barotiwala, the flames of tragedy roared on February 2, 2024, leaving behind a trail of sorrow and questions.

The SIT is probing the FIR No. 14/2024, registered at PS Barotiwala under sections 285, 336, 337, and 304 of the Indian Penal Code. Plant head Chander Shekhar is under Police remand for four days. 

The Unforgiving Blaze:
Amidst the inferno, 85  workers  toiled within the confines of NR Aromas when disaster struck.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri along with DGP Sanjay Kundu visited  the  fire spot and took stock of the situation last night and directed the police to take the culprits to justice.

According to DGP, Sanjay Kundu in the aftermath, 47 workers have been traced and accounted for, while 29 others bear the scars of the fire, who ate getting  medical care at various facilities.

The Community Health Centre in Nalagarh tends to 20 injured workers, ESI Hospital in Katha, Baddi, attends to 7, and 2 are under the care of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI) in Chandigarh.

Lives Lost, Families Shattered:
As many  five lives have been claimed by the unforgiving flames. Among the identified victims are Ms. Pinki from Madan Wala, District Panchkula; Ms. Rakhi from Naroli, District Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh; Ms. Shashi from Tehsil Bilsi, District Badaun; and Ms. Rehnuma from Tehsil Awala, District Bareilly.

Missing in the Ashes:
Four workers remain missing in the aftermath - Champo from Village Baroh, District Chamba; Kajal from District Badaun, UP; Kajal Bharti from Kushinagar, UP; and Kalpana Ahirwar from District Chatarpur, MP.

Response Amidst Chaos:
In the face of tragedy, the Police District Baddi, in collaboration with HP SDRF, NDRF, and HP Fire, responded prompt action, battling the flames and extending a lifeline to the victims.

An investigation is underway, delving into the cause of the fire and scrutinizing safety norms at NR Aromas, said DGP.

A Plea for Information:
The public is implored to aid in the search for the missing workers. Shri Ashok Kumar, Additional Superintendent of Police, stands as the point of contact for any information related to the incident, reachable at 9816999000.

Acknowledging Heroes, Extending Support:
As the HP Police extends condolences to the grieving families and wishes a swift recovery to the injured, a salute is offered to emergency services, healthcare workers, and all those rallying to support the victims in the wake of this calamity.

As questions linger in the smoke-filled air, the Police District Baddi invites inquiries and assistance, urging individuals to contact the Superintendent of Police at 01795-245800.
