Jaishankar in Shimla adressing audience on May 28

India Will Become a Global Manufacturing Hub: Jaishankar...

Shimla: At the event "Developed India @2047: An Intellectual Deliberation" organized by Friends of Shimla, India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar addressed the socalled "intellectuals" of Shimla.

He stated that in the coming years, India is set to become a global economic power and manufacturing hub.

He mentioned that due to China's inhumane policies and increasing global interference, it has lost credibility worldwide, which has positioned India as a beacon of hope.

Jaishankar said, "Today, major companies like Apple are turning to India. A significant portion of Apple's phone production is now happening in India, and other major companies are also looking towards India."

The External Affairs Minister highlighted that a stable and democratic government is India's greatest strength, which has made India a center for startups.

He noted, "India now has 111 unicorns. During the COVID-19 pandemic, India provided vaccines to 101 countries, embodying the spirit of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (the world is one family)."

He further added, "India led the G20, promoting the message of global brotherhood.

Today, India is building 30 kilometers of road, 14 kilometers of rail tracks, and 8 airports daily, emerging as a strong infrastructure and technology giant."

Jaishankar remarked, "India has achieved a major milestone in the internet sector by developing 5G.

While the world grapples with challenges like data security and privacy, India has taken steps to ensure the data security of its citizens."

Speaking on sustainable development, Jaishankar said, "India is progressing towards meeting the United Nations standards. India's claim for permanent membership in the UNSC is gaining strength, with many countries supporting India's bid for a permanent seat."

He assured, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a developed India by 2047 will surely be realized, as India's 'Make in India' initiative is roaring globally."
