SHIMLA: Following the recent issuance of a notification by the state government regarding the imposition of water cess on power projects in Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Sukhinder Singh Sukhu has set up a four-member State Commission for Water Cess on power generation in the state.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu administered the oath of office to Amitabh Awasthi (IAS retd)who has been appointed as the Chairman of the State Commission for Water Cess on Hydropower Generation. Awasthi, an IAS retired recently.
CM administered the oath to H.M. Dhareula, who had retired as Chief Engineer, Energy, Arun Sharma, and Joginder Singh, both Lawyers, who will serve as Members of the newly formed Commission.
The oath-taking event was attended by various officials, including Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan, Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sanjay Awasthi, Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretary Jal Shakti Onkar Chand Sharma, and OSDs to Chief Minister Gopal Sharma and Ritesh Kaprate, among others.
