SHIMLA; A 5-member geologist team surveyed notable sites including the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies Shimla, Police Line Kaithu, Loreto Tara Hall School, and Dayanand Public School within the city. The team will also survey other areas battered by rains and landslides as well.
The Joint NDRF,SDRF,Army,ITBP,HomeGuards team retrieved over 20 bodies from the wreckage site till today and concluded its search operation.
After demands raised by different groups, Deputy Commissioner Aditya Negi has sought the team from the Industries department to probe the vulnerable areas including Shiv Baudi where 20 people were killed in a massive flash flood.
Negi oversaw the proceedings.
The team has been appointed by the Industries Department upon the request of the Deputy Commissioner Shimla.
The team is conducting inspections at multiple sites within Shimla city to identify the weak areas.
Led by Geologists Anil Kumar Singh Rana, Gaurav Sharma, Suresh Bhardwaj, and Atul Sharma, along with Assistant Geologist Sunil Verma as the member secretary, the team's task is to assess vulnerable spots and schools in Shimla.
Their focus is on suggesting immediate preventative actions and evaluating rain-induced damages.
Aditya Negi, revealed that the team will collaborate with district administration to inspect crucial areas and promptly deliver their findings.
The inspections will continue in other areas in the city. The geologists’ team is expected to provide their comprehensive investigative report post their inspections.
