SHIMLA: IN a glaring failure, the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE)

has once again come under fire for its mismanagement, leading to the cancellation of the Class XII English examination.

This decision stems from the distribution of incorrect question papers to Class X students, further highlighting the board's persistent inefficiencies.

On March 6, at the Kupwi Senior Secondary School examination center in Shimla district, a grave error occurred during the morning shift. Regular Class X students were handed the English paper intended for the State Open School (SOS) candidates, while in the evening shift, SOS students received the paper meant for regular candidates.

This blunder has forced the board to cancel both examinations, compelling students to reappear due to the board's oversight. 

This incident is not isolated. In a similar vein, the Class XII Political Science paper for SOS candidates was canceled after it was mistakenly distributed to regular students at the Government Senior Secondary School in Bharmaur, Chamba district.

Additionally, the theft of Class XII Physics and Computer Science question papers from Government Senior Secondary School in Nichar, Kinnaur district, led to the cancellation of these examinations as well. 

These recurring issues underscore HPBOSE's chronic administrative lapses. Despite previous assurances of systemic reforms to enhance examination integrity, the board's actions have culminated in significant distress for students, parents, and educators alike.

The necessity for students to retake examinations due to such preventable errors raises serious concerns about the board's commitment to educational excellence and operational accountability.

The education community demands immediate and effective measures from HPBOSE to rectify these systemic flaws.

Ensuring meticulous planning and execution of examination protocols is imperative to restore trust and uphold the educational standards that students rightfully expect.
