DEHRADUN: State civil services officers attending the 126th Induction Training Programme at LBSNAA met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan today (March 7, 2025).
Congratulating the officers on their promotion and induction into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the President urged them to "lead by example and inspire others to strive for excellence in public service."
She advised them to adopt a national and inclusive approach in governance. "Your role is to implement government policies in a way that serves all sections of society," she said.
The President emphasized that the essence of governance lies in responsiveness and sensitivity towards people's needs. She stressed the importance of a citizen-centric administration, stating, "A good administrator prioritizes the welfare of the poor and deprived."
She urged the officers to ensure that "policies and programs address the concerns of the people effectively." Their decisions, she said, must contribute to the overall development of the nation and its citizens.
Speaking on environmental challenges, President Murmu said, "As we tackle climate change and environmental degradation, it is crucial to promote eco-friendly initiatives."
She reminded them that development must be inclusive. "The benefits of growth should reach all sections of society, especially the disadvantaged and marginalized," she stated.
