Kamlesh Thakur to Contest from Dehra; Faces BJP's Hoshiyar Singh..

In a significant political move, Kamlesh Thakur, wife of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, has been declared the Congress candidate for the Dehra Assembly constituency. She is set to contest against BJP candidate Hoshiyar Singh, who previously served as an independent.

Kamlesh Thakur becomes the second prominent candidate’s wife to enter the political fray in recent times, following Santosh Kumari, wife of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.

This nomination reflects a growing trend of political families extending their influence, with Kamlesh aiming to leverage her husband’s standing and the Congress’s legacy in the region.
