Muslim Leaders Submit Proposal to Shimla MC Commissioner Seeking Action on 'Illegal portion of Masjid' to Maintain Brotherhood, Peace in Himachal.
Shimla: Clerics and imam of the Muslim community today submitted a peacekeeping proposal to Shimla Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Bhupinder Atri, urging the sealing of illegal portion of the Sanjauli Masjid.
The move, they believe, will help maintain brotherhood, goodwill, and the longstanding peace that Himachal Pradesh is known for.
During their submission, the community leaders emphasized the importance of living harmoniously, stating that "we have been living here peacefully for generations, and it is our duty to continue spreading love and maintaining peace."
Local president Mohammad Latif confirmed that a special committee has been formed to look into the matter.
The proposal aims to address concerns over unauthorized construction, which the community feels could disrupt the peace.
One of the community representatives, Abdullah, added, "We have lived with love and respect for one another, and we urge everyone not to politicize this issue. Our aim is to keep Himachal Pradesh a peaceful state where everyone coexists in harmony."
The leaders also requested that the media handle this issue responsibly and avoid linking it to political agendas.
"The situation is sensitive, but we trust the authorities will handle it sensibly. We are all brothers, and peace is our priority," another leader stated.
Commissioner confirmed to media that he has received the proposal to seal illegal port of the masjid and if allowed by court they will remove it by themselves.
