Shimla: In a press briefing today, Principal Media Advisor to the Chief Minister, Naresh Chauhan, asserted that the State Government and the Congress party are aligned in combating what they perceive as the BJP's discriminatory approach towards the people of Himachal Pradesh during disasters.
Chauhan emphasized the unity between the party organization and the government, highlighting their joint efforts for the upcoming general elections.
Chauhan addressed concerns about dissident MLAs, stating that every legislator has the option to submit suggestions in writing to the Chief Minister, emphasizing that these inputs are welcomed and will be addressed gradually. Dismissing criticism from the opposition, he attributed their remarks to political obligations.
Highlighting the Congress government's achievements under Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Chauhan pointed out initiatives for welfare, self-employment opportunities for youth, and agricultural development.
He emphasized the government's commitment to reaching the grassroots through "Sarkar Gaon ke Dwar" without excessive spending.
Regarding the Lok Sabha elections, Chauhan expressed confidence, citing the fulfillment of promises such as One Rank One Pension for 1.36 lakh employees and the launch of the Rs. 680 crore Rajiv Gandhi Start-up Yojna.
He criticized the BJP's financial management, claiming the state's finances were left in disarray.
Chauhan questioned the BJP's track record during its previous regime, asserting that the opposition lacks substantial achievements to present to the electorate.
He criticized the interim budget for not addressing the state's financial concerns, particularly in promoting tourism and industries, leaving the middle class adversely affected.
As the political landscape intensifies in Himachal Pradesh, the Congress party positions itself as a united front against the BJP, emphasizing its commitment to the welfare of the state and its people.
